Introduction: Heart Attack Chicken Breast
Here is a crowd pleasing and simple way to eat more bacon. This is super simple to make and is well received. I baked them in the oven but they would be great on the grill as well.
Step 1: Gather the Stuff
For this recipe you will need:
1-2 chicken breast per person
a piece of sausage for each chicken breast
about 6 slices of bacon per chicken breast.
Step 2: This Is Where the Magic Happens.
Be sure what ever surface you prepare this "chicken" on isn't going to be used to prepare other foods without a good washing of the surface, we don't want any cross contamination.
1. Lay out a piece of chicken breast
2. put a link of sausage in the middle
3. start wrapping the entire thing in the slices of bacon
Step 3: Into the Oven We Go.
I dropped this massive pan of meat into the oven at 350 degrees F for about 2 hours. If your pan o meat is as full as mine you will have to drain off some of the yummy bacony goodness. I covered the pan in a layer of foil just to keep the meat from browning to fast. It would have been better if I had more room in the pan or another pan to allow for some room around each of chicken breast. They probably would have cooked much faster that way. The best way to determine when they are done is to use a calibrated meat thermometer and bring the sausage to and internal temp of a very minimum of 165 degrees F. Not having this I cooked the daylights out of the chicken, 2 hours at 350 degrees, then another 10 minutes unwrapped to help brown the bacon a little. The bacon magic i drained off the pan o meat would be good to use for soap, but i didn't think of this at that time.
Step 4: This Is the Best Part.
Once you are sure your chicken is fully cooked its time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I hope you enjoy this recipe.
