Introduction: Homemade Oolong Tea Latte

About: ToDoTea is the portmanteau of Tony and Doris, the Heart and Soul of the family operation, where Doris brings her life-long expertise in Taiwan teas, and Tony helps out with whatever to make her look good. We w…

Flaky, buttery croissants, and a cup of aromatic, foamy latte.

If all that is delivered to your bed just when the warm sunlight peeks through the silky curtains,

Isn't that the kind of breakfast you want to wake up to each day?

While it's not possible to deliver your favourite breakfast to your bed each day,

We can help you replace the caffeine filled latte with an Oolong Tea Latte to give you a gentler wake up call to the day.

Step 1: Brew a Glass of Hot Taiwan Oolong Tea

Prepare 6 ounces of water (177 ml), and heat it to 195 degrees Fahrenheit (91 degrees Celsius).

Then steep 4 teaspoons of loose leaf Taiwan Oolong (4-6 g) in the water for 3-4 minutes to get the golden aromatic brew.

As the composition of the tea latte should consist half tea, half milk,

So you should only half fill a glass when you pour the Oolong brew in.

Step 2: Use a Milk Frother to Whisk Milk Foam

Now it's time to create the foamy milk that will transform the Oolong tea to Oolong tea latte.

A small milk frother like the one shown in the video can whisk up a white, frothy milk foam for you in under 60 seconds.

The ideal foam should have an airy, creamy look that doesn't change its shape when you move the cup.

Step 3: Pour Milk Foam to Finish

Let's get back to the glass half full of Oolong tea, and pour in the foamy milk.

Remember to maintain the 1:1 ratio of tea to milk as you go.

What you get is,

A healthy brew of Oolong Tea Latte with just the right of caffeine to wake you up gently in the morning.
