Introduction: Homemade Signal Switching Transistors

Many people spend a lot of money on buying transistors. This instructable will show you how to make transistors ONLY capable of switching. They cannot be used for amplifying.

Supplies

  • 2 scottky diodes

Step 1: Assemble

Assemble according to the diagram.

Step 2: Performance

The transistors have pretty low beta, so they are not capable of amplifying (that means no using them to repair transistor radios). Only use them for switching on power (like solar garden lights, etc.). However, DO NOT USE THEM WHERE THEY WOULD BE AN OBVIOUS DIRECT SHORT! Otherwise they will burn up and kill your power source.
