Hi MakersBox, I have an update on the one I am making.Got 2 video's on how it's going, first is at full speed, (some error drawing)second is at half speed. (draws better)You mention the motors you are using are "They are also way over powered (and heavy)"I have found some more similar (round not square) to the ones I am using on eBay, If you are still looking for something better?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-9-Deg-36MM-Round-Mini...
Very nice.I added a laser attachment to my plotter.A material I like to use is corrugated cardboard.
I enjoyed your video's, very informative, I learned something, you have a thumbs up from me.

Got an update on my Mini Plotter.Plots from memory, no need for a computer to be attached.Added text plots so words 30mm high words can be written.Still haven't written it all up, can't make an instruction yet.
Thanks for your help.I will experiment an other time.I had a draft inst. I was playing with, I got a mail asking if I wanted help with it, replied what I was doing, now it's gone.
A screenshot would be nice.I started a draft, to experiment with.I tried some script, and it placed pictures as instructed in the editor, but the full preview shows nothing.I have changed my pictures that have transparent background to GIF's.Those that looked distorted, I have added transparent padding to the picture. (made them squarer)
Um HTML is OK you say, I will give it a try.Is there an documents on the useable HTML?

Thank you for letting me know.I found some smaller hybrid motors than the ones you are using, (a little cheaper) I will let you know how it goes when I have made it. (I'm glad to hear that they are an improvement)I have attached a screen shot to show the pen mechanism better, I wanted it to take a selection of pens, and I wanted to be sure there was no lateral moment. (the tip fits into a cone to centralize it) It's raised along two linier bars. When the bot moves, it accelerates/de-accelerates gradually to/from set speed. (I wrote code so it had half-step and acceleration)The bot I used the stepper motors from CD/DVD drives where too week to start at full speed even though I wired them at a fixed current.
Very nice Instruction, I like how you have done it.Hi, just found your instruction here while searching to see if someone had done something similar to what I have done here: https://tims-draw-bot.blogspot.com/2019/04/tims-dr...Mine is controlled via Bluetooth and the script is G-Code.I also found your other instruction using geared stepper motors (28BYJ-48)I found these motors had too much back-lash (for me) to be accurate while tuning an angle. (I use G-Code with absolute dimensions).I notice you are now using Hybrid Stepper Motors. ( I have some on order, for my next version )The reason for this comment is I want to ask: Have you found an improvement with the Hybrid Stepper Motors?
It's where you place the cursor before you print the number on the display.Printing 9, prints over the 1, but nothing removes the 0.Either clear screen before a print, or print a space after the number.
Thanks for your comment.
Your right about it being a bit tedious, at the start I wanted to show I had added a menu system to enable some control of the device without a computer attached.I wanted to show it in continuous action for a length of time to show the motors don't fry over time, my intention was to put my finger on one of the motors at the end to show they remain ok but I forgot. :)
I wanted to see what people thought, I have other projects I am working on, and I still want to do more to this if I can. I was hoping to make it stand alone, but I am currently having issues with lack of memory on the NANO, I may make a new one with 2 NANO's :)
Nice job, good for those starting with A8 3D Printer.I have done some other mods to my A8 you may be interested in?I have done a blog here: https://3dprintermods.blogspot.com/2017/08/tims-modifications-to-a8-3d-printer-i.html
I'm glad you found something useful.Let me know how you get on.
I am glad you like it.I originally started doing them with a resist pen.But I found that the pen kept drying up. (a lot of resist pens need priming now and then)I was going to try it with Drafting Pen (rOtring rapidograh) with resist ink, but never got around to trying it. (I know there is short versions of these pens for use in plotters)
Thank you very much for leaving a comment, I do appreciate it when someone lets me know they like it.
