Introduction: How to Cook Smoked Mac and Cheese

Today we are going to be making a delectable smoked mac and cheese. A dangerously tasty dish and an old favourite.

Ingredients

  • 700g GF Macaroni
  • 1kg Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1kg Grated Cheese of your choice
  • Bacon
  • 4 cups of Milk
  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Pepper
  • ½ tbsp Sweet Paprika
  • ½ tbsp Garlic Powder
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Parmesan Cheese

Step 1: Light My Fire

Let’s begin by adding a chimney of charcoal to the bbq.

Step 2: Gettin’ Cheesy

Next, we’re going to place our 1kg of sharp Cheddar Cheese in an aluminium baking tray.

Follow this with the 700g of Gluten Free Macaroni.

Then we pour the 4 cups of milk evenly over the macaroni and stir through.

Step 3: Seasoning

Next, we season with the following ingredients:

  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Pepper
  • ½ tbsp Sweet Paprika
  • ½ tbsp Garlic Powder

Step 4: More Cheese!

Top with the 1kg grated Cheddar cheese.

Okay, time to throw it into the bbq and replace the lid.

Smoke for 1 and a half hours at 150 degrees Celsius or 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 5: Makin’ Bacon

While that’s cooking let’s chop up and cook off 1/2 kg of bacon.

Cook the bacon until the edges are crispy.

Place the bacon between two sheets of paper towel to remove some of the bacon grease.

Step 6: Check In

Next up is to check on the mac n cheese, mix everything up and stir in the bacon.

Let’s leave that to cook for another 30 minutes.

Step 7: More. Cheese

Remove the Mac and Cheese once again and stir thoroughly.

Add breadcrumbs and follow with the grated parmesan on top.

Step 8: One Last Time

Remove the Mac and Cheese once again and stir thoroughly.

Add breadcrumbs and follow with the grated parmesan on top.

Put it back in the BBQ for 10 more minutes.

Step 9: Dig In!

Once the time is up, there you have it!

This cheesy delight is a weapon at social events or just the dinner table.
