Introduction: How to Draw a Platypus With Sub Par Skills

Welcome to this basic drawing tutorial on how to capture the mystical creature known as the platypus. Because, you know, nothing screams "basic" like drawing an animal that's basically a mishmash of leftover parts from other animals. So, grab your pencils and prepare to sketch out nature's greatest identity crisis.

Supplies

You need a pencil made out of real unicorn horns and donkey piss otherwise your platypus will become demented and eat your family. and a piece of A4 paper however any paper works except vegan paper because it's stupid.

Step 1: Eyes

Now, you might be wondering why bother drawing eyes for a creature that spends half its time underwater with its eyes closed anyway. Well, my dear artists, think of it as a challenge from Mother Nature herself. So, let's add those little peepers onto our platypus sketches and give this quirky critter the gift of sight it probably won't use. first start by creating a circle it doesn't really matter how perfect it is and then put a circle in that one and put a circle in that one and then colour in the middle circle. it's complicated but you will figure it out.

Step 2: Frame

now for the most complex step. you will draw a half rectangle with the eye half poking out make sure you don't draw over your beautiful eye.

Step 3: Beak

A beak so Crazy that it's as if nature decided to play a prank on all the other animals. Seriously, who looked at a duck's bill and thought, "Let's jazz it up with some extras, shall we?" But hey, here we are, with a platypus with a beak that's equal parts duck, spoon, and Swiss Army knife. So, as we sketch out this feat of anatomy, let's tip our hats to the platypus for showing us that sometimes, it's the quirks that make things truly beautiful. this step is hard to describe so I won't. just copy the drawing nobody is even reading this anyway and if you are good job.

Step 4: Legs

Ah, the legs of the platypus— These legs, a blend of webbed wonders and sturdy little pillars. With webbed feet and sturdy limbs that suggest a land-loving lifestyle, the platypus straddles two worlds with all the finesse of a confused tourist in a foreign country. So, as we sketch out these appendages, let's salute the platypus for its steadfast refusal to conform to any single mode of movement, because why walk when you can waddle, swim, and paddle all at once? the legs are easy just draw two lines and capp it off with a little stuby foot and just copy and paste 4 times.

Step 5: Eyes Part 2

because I couldn't be bothered to make both eyes in one step just go ahead and give him his well-deserved second eye. and give him some hairs like 2 because why not?

Step 6: Tail

you can figure this one out on your own

Step 7: Finnished Product

Behold, our masterpiece. With its mismatched features, our finished drawing captures the essence of the animal kingdom. From its beak to its limbs, every detail serves as a testament to evolution and the infinite possibilities of nature's creativity. So, as we gaze upon our creation, let's revel in the sheer absurdity of the platypus and celebrate the joy of embracing life's delightful oddities. After all, in a world full of conformity, isn't it refreshing to encounter something as gloriously, wonderfully weird as the platypus?
