Although the the list of ingredients might be a bit long, they are all the right ones to make this super easy recipe and the best part is that it's all made in one pot which is such a bonus because less dishes means more time to spend with your loved ones doing the thing you all love to do. Supplies

Some of the Supplies I've used for this recipe

Step 1: Ingredients

  • 1 lb. of Flank Steak, sliced thinly
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 3 teaspoons of soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh minced ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 cup of beef stock
  • 2 Tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon of water
  • 2 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Cooking Converter (if you need help converting the measurements)

Step 2: Prepare Meat

I recommend freezing your meat for about 30 minutes before you start slicing the meat to make this meal. By freezing the meat, it makes it easier to slice the beef into thin slices. After 30 minutes, you can take the meat out of the freezer and thinly slice the meat against the grain. Once it is sliced, add it to a large bowl.

Step 3: Coat Steak

Add cornstarch and soy sauce in a bowl and toss together to coat the steak.

Step 4: Cook Beef

In a large skillet, the olive oil and allow it to get hot on medium high heat, add the steak in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minute per side.

Step 5: Remove Beef

Once cooked on both sides remove from pot onto cleat plate and set aside.

Step 6: Saute Onion

To the same pot that you used to cook your beef, add the onion and ginger and cook for about 2-3 minutes. You might noticed that my onions are diced, I meant to thinly slice them.

Step 7: Add Garlic and Broccoli

Add the garlic and broccoli and cook for 3 more minute. If your broccoli is on the smaller side, you can cut up some of the stems/stalks and add them in a well.

Step 8: Add the Beef Stock...

Add the beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar and sesame oil into the skillet.

Step 9: Bring to a Boil

Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for about 2 minutes on medium high heat. Make sure to use a wooden spoon to pull up the caramelized bits off the bottom of the pot. This will help enhance the flavor and make it easier to wash the pot out later.

Step 10: Cornstarch Slurry

Whisk together the cornstarch and cold water and add it to the broccoli mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.

Step 11: Add in Beef

Stir in the cooked steak and stir so everything is combined and the beef is warmed through.

Step 12: Enjoy!

Top with the sesame seeds. Enjoy over rice! I made the rice while I was making the Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. You can make Chow Mein or which ever carb dish you like to serve along this dish. The beef has a beautiful take-out texture and flavor.
