Introduction: How to Make Caramel Rolls

Caramel rolls are a delicious treat for brunches,gatherings, or really any occasions! They can be daunting to make, but these instructions provide simple steps to successfully make your own caramel rolls. To make caramel rolls, you should be at least teenage or an adult. Some basic baking knowledge is helpful, but not required. To complete this task, you will need 8-10 hours for dough to rise, 20 minutes to cut the rolls and make the sauce, and about 30 minutes for baking. Making caramel rolls is a rewarding and tasty experience if you are willing to put in the time and effort!

· 2 loaves frozen bread dough

· 2 tablespoons white sugar

· 2 tablespoons cinnamon

· 1 stick of butter (plus 2 tablespoons for spreading)

· 1 cup brown sugar

· 1 cup vanilla ice cream

· Cooking spray

Equipment & Tools

· Cling wrap

· Wax paper

· 9 x 13 cake pan

· Medium saucepan

· Cookie sheet

· Bowl

· One cup measuring cup/one tablespoon measuring spoon

· Spoon for stirring

Step 1:

Place 2 loaves of frozen bread dough on a plate and cover with a piece of cling wrap sprayed with cooking spray. Let sit on counter at room temperature for 8-10 hours to rise.

Step 2:

Once risen, use your hands to roll out each loaf of bread on a piece of wax paper and evenly spread about 2 tablespoons of butter onto the dough.

Step 3:

Mix together two tablespoons sugar and two tablespoons cinnamon in a bowl.

Step 4:

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over buttered dough.

Step 5:

Roll each loaf into a log-like shape.

Step 6:

Use a knife to cut the log into 1- inch pieces.

Step 7:

Place pieces into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 cake pan.

Step 8:

In a medium saucepan, place one stick of butter, one cup brown sugar, and one cup of vanilla ice cream.

Step 9:

Heat on medium, stirring frequently, until completely melted. It should be smooth and caramel-colored with no lumps.

Step 10:

Pour sauce evenly over rolls in the cake pan.

Step 11:

Cover rolls with cling wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Rolls will have risen to about the height of the pan by morning.

Step 12:

Remove cling wrap and bake rolls in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. You will know the rolls are done when the tops are beginning to look crispy.

Step 13:

Flip over the pan of rolls onto a cookie sheet to allow the caramel to seep into the rolls.

Step 14:

Remove pan and enjoy!
