Introduction: How to Make Chocolate Chip Macadamia-Nut Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies. A beloved treat known all over the United States. Everyone loves them, now I'm going to show you how to make them my mom's way with macadamia nuts. This recipe makes about 30 cookies. #HMS2020

Supplies

2 cups of flour, 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 3/4 cups of brown sugar,1 1/2 sticks butter, softened, 1 egg, 3/4 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3/4 cups of granulated cane sugar, oven, baking sheet, large wooden spoon, whisk, 1/2 of macadamia nuts, chopped, 2 large bowls.

Step 1: Mixing

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt. Whisk until combined. In a separate bowl combine brown sugar and granulated cane sugar. With a large wooden spoon mix together butter and sugar until you reach a sand-like texture. Be sure not to over mix. Add egg, stir until combined. Add vanilla extract. Mix together flower mixture with sugar mixture. Add in chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Stir with a large wooden spoon.

Step 2: Bake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes for dough to harden. Roll the cookie dough into little balls about 2 tablespoons big. Line baking sheet with parchment paper(optional). Put the baking sheet in the oven on the 1st row. Let bake for 10-12 minutes.

Step 3: Enjoy

Take out of oven. Let cool for 5 minutes. One challenge I faced while doing this was that the cookies were a little over-baked. I made a second batch and baked for about 2 minutes less. They were a little less brown and less crunchy. Also, in my opinion there were not enough macadamia-nuts. I would increase the amount of them by just a little bit.
