Introduction: How to Make Curry Puffs in Triangular Form #HMS2020

Curry puffs are one of my most favorite snacks to eat. Because of that, I will be showing you how to make curry puffs in a triangular form! Its deliciousness lead me to share out how to make the puffs. You can make these delicious treats by following my instructions.


2 or 3 potatoes

1 or 2 red onions

1 pound of ground beef

black pepper

curry powder


oyster sauce

a little bit of salt

vegetable oil

egg roll pastry

cooking wine


Step 1: Cut the Potatoes, Red Onions, and Carrots, and Prepare the Ground Beef.

The first thing you will need to do is dice up carrots, red onions, and potatoes. Make sure you unfreeze the ground beef 4 hours earlier before use. Add 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce and 1 tablespoon of cooking wine to the ground beef along with a little bit of black pepper. Then mix them together with a spoon.

Step 2: Prepare the Pan.

Get a pan and your ingredients together. Pour 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil into the pan and turn on the the stove to high heat. Then turn on the range hood. After, let the pan get hot.

Step 3: Cook the Potatoes

Pour the potatoes into the pan. Then stir them to make sure they don't stick to the pan. We do this so it will not burn on the bottom and raw on top. Cook them for 4 minutes and put them aside.

Step 4: Mix the Carrots and Onions to the Pan

Add the carrots and the red onions onto the other side of the pan along with the potatoes. Proceed to add 1/2 tablespoon of salt into the pan, and add 1 tablespoon of sugar into the pan. Mix all the ingredients altogether in the pan. Then put all your ingredients to the side of the pan just as we did with the potatoes. The other half allows us to put our meat in.

Step 5: Put the Ground Beef Into the Pan

Put your ground beef onto the other side of the pan. Cook the ground beef on the other side of the pan for 3 minutes. After that, mix the beef with the potatoes, red onions, and carrots. After you've done this, proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Add Sugar and Curry Powder to the Pan

Add 3 tablespoon of curry powder into the pan and mix them together with your ingredients. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar into the pan, and mix them. After you've mixed the ingredients, press all the ingredients flat on the pan. Give a taste test! If you think it's under salted or under seasoned, proceed to add as your liking. Turn off the heat afterwards. The ingredients is finished! Then put all the ingredients to a clean container to let it cool down. It MUST be cold not hot!

Step 7: Make a Sticky Paste

Put 3 tablespoons of flour into a small pan and then add 3 tablespoons of water into the man. Mix them together and put it on the stove on medium heat. Cook for about 2 minutes and then mix the water and the flour together. We cook this to make it into a sticky substance. We do this because we will need to stick it to the egg roll pastry later on. After you've cooked it, you should see a white glue like substance. Let the potato starch cool down after you've cooked it. Let it cool down. You then can come back in between 10-20 minutes to fold your pastry.

Step 8: Fold the Pastry

Place you egg roll pastry into a tray, and then get a spoonful of the curry you made and place it onto the pastry. On the right side of the pastry, get a little bit of the sticky paste onto the pastry. Then fold it as shown in the photos. After, you can fold as much as you want to your liking.

Step 9: Fry the Curry Puffs

Put 600 ml oil into a saucepan, after you've done this, heat the pan to 160 Celsius. After you've done this and fried them up, enjoy! I would like to thank you for sticking with me. Lastly, I hoped you had fun. Fry it until it's flaky and brown. Make sure not to burn it!

Step 10: Conclusion

In conclusion, I learned how to make the curry puffs, and that it not as hard as I expected it to be. I also learned that you can put 1 more tablespoon of vegetable oil onto the pan if it gets too dry. You can do this when you are cooking the potatoes, onions, and carrots. This project did not contain a huge mess and was a delicious snack after you've finished making it.
