Introduction: How to Make Snicker Doodle Cookies.

Snicker doodles are one of the best cookies on the planet! Here is an instructable on how to make them at home for you to enjoy whenever you like. This instructable was made by Noah Jones. #HMS2020 student

{Side note} This is my first time so it might not be as good as other snicker doodle instructables.

Supplies

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. kosher salt

1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened , room temperature

1 1/4 c. granulated sugar, divided

1/2 c. packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

2 tsp. Vanilla Extract

2 cookie sheets

Parchment Paper

Mixer or Wooden Spoons

Mixing Bowl

Cooling Rack

Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:

1/4 cup Sugar

1 1/2 Tablespoons Cinnamon

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies.

Make sure you have everything you need to make the cookies before you start or else you're going to have a bad time.

Preheat your oven to 350°. Layer two big baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small bowl combine 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Then on to the next step.

Step 2: Creaming Sugar, Butter, and Eggs

Start by creaming the butter and sugar for 4 to 5 minutes. This is an important step because the butter coats the sugar crystals and creates a smooth texture. In a separate mixing bowl using a hand mixer, beat butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Do it until it's light and fluffy. Then add the 2 eggs and your vanilla extract. Then mix for 1 to 2 minutes longer.

Step 3: Combining Wet and Dry Ingredients

In a bowl combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt until just combined. In a small bowl stir together cinnamon and sugar, and then set the bowl aside. Then fold the dry ingredients you previously mixed into the egg mixture, until it is combined.

Step 4: Forming the Cookies

If you have time wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for 20 to 30 minutes. Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop and roll the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls until round and smooth. Then roll balls in your cinnamon sugar mixture and coat well. Using a spoon coat cookie balls a second time making sure they are completely covered. Arrange balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Note: to make flatter cookies, press down in the center of the balls before placing them in the oven. This helps them to keep from puffing up in the middle.

Step 5: Baking Cookies

Place cookies sheets in the middle rack of the oven. Bake until the cookies begin to crack, about 12 minutes. Let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes on the cookie sheets. Then use a thin metal spatula to transfer cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Step 6: Eating Your COOKIES!!!

Now you take your cookies out of the oven and give them a few minutes and then they should be ready. Then DIG IN!!!!!!

Step 7: Conclusion
