Cooking Equipment:

  • 1x Oven
  • 1x 20cm square baking pan
  • 1x roll of Baking paper (need ~60cm length, depending on tray size.
  • 1x Mixing Bowl
  • 1x Wooden spoon
  • 1x small bowl
  • 1x Weighing Scales
  • 1x Cooling rack (optional)
  • 1x measuring cup
  • 1x Microwave
  • 1x Cake Spatula (not shown in pictures above)
  • 1x Oven Mitt (also not shown in pictures above)

To serve - in side plate or small bowl.

Step 1: Prep Work

NOTE: Before you start, wash your hands and do not touch your face or sneeze into your hands while cooking.

Preheat oven to 180*C (160*C fan forced).

Tear a piece of baking paper that covers the whole baking tray plus a bit more (look at photo)

Pour water into measuring cup, and then put your two eggs in the water. This will test to see if the eggs are good to eat or not. If the egg sinks, it's good, but if it floats, it isn't and throw it away.

Using the scales, cut butter off using a knife and put it in a bowl on top of the scales. Then, when the scales read '125g', then put butter in microwave for 35 seconds to let it melt.

Step 2: Mix

Mix the two eggs, melted butter and brownie mix into the mixing bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined. (look at the photo above to see what it must look like).

Step 3: Bake

Transfer brownie mix into the baking pan, spreading the mixture evenly throughout the pan, so the mixture is mostly level throughout. Bake for 35 minutes or until brownie is set (when the brownie has gone crusty around the outsides). Set a timer for your preferred cooking time.

TIP: Bake for 32 minutes for a dense and gooey brownie, or 37 minutes for a harder brownie. If you are looking for a more hard, less gooey brownie, put a skewer through the middle of the brownie. If it comes out clean, then it is thorough.

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure your are within 10 metres of the oven, in case a fire was to suddenly break out in the oven. If you are a kid under the age of 14, ensure you have adult permission and supervision when putting things in and out of the oven, for safety reasons (e.g. in case you get burnt).

Step 4: Serving

As your timer goes off, take your brownies out of your oven wearing oven mitts. Wait 15-20 minutes to let it cool and then take it out of the baking pan onto a cooling rack. If you do not have a cooling rack, wait an extra 10-15min and then put the brownie into an airtight container that fits the brownie inside.

Then, add your icecream flavour of choice, chocolate whipped cream and flakes, blueberries and shredded coconut. Then, serve up with a spoon as a utensil.

Enjoy your brownies!
