Do you want to enjoy the company of beautiful, colorful birds in your yard or garden? You can easily make this bird feeder at home, with a few craft sticks and some basic supplies.

This is what you'll need:

35 - 45 craft sticks
Glue gun and glue sticks
Ruler
Scissors
String
Green spray paint (or another color of your choice)
Bird food

Step 1: Prepare the First Craft Sticks

Take one craft stick and put it in half. Then, take two craft sticks and use scissors or another sharp tool to make small holes in each end. We will use these holes to pull the strings through, so we can hang the feeder on a tree.

Step 2: Make the Bird Feeder Base

Put 8 craft sticks on the table, with their sides touching. Secure those sticks by gluing 2 craft sticks on top of them but in the opposite direction, as shown in the photo.

Step 3: Glue 2 More Craft Stick on the Other Side

Turn the craft sticks over and glue two more sticks to the edges, also in the opposite direction as in the previous step.

Next, glue two more sticks on the other opposite ends and continue on layering the sticks in this way to build up the area where the bird seed will go.

Step 4: Glue Two Half on the Opposite Ends

When you have 5 layers of sticks on each side, glue 2 halves (that we made in step 1) in the opposite ends, as shown in the photo. This will be a place for the birds to stand while they feed.

Step 5: Add 5 More Layers of Craft Sticks

After attaching the 2 halves, continue building new layers of craft sticks as before. Add 5 more layers, the same way as before.

Step 6: Pull the Strings Through the Holes and Secure the Knots

Cut 2 strings (18 inches long). Pull the string through holes in the stick that we made in step 1. Make a knot underneath the craft sticks and use a craft glue to secure the knots.

Step 7: Glue the Sticks With Strings to the Top

Glue 2 craft sticks with a string to the top of the bird feeder.

Step 8: Put the Final String That You'll Use to Hang the Feeder

Decide on the lenght of the string that you'll use to hang the feeder on a tree or wherever you want. Then, pull that string under the 2 strings attached to the feeder. Make a knot so you can hang it.

Step 9: Spray Paint the Bird Feeder

Hang the feeder in a place where you can safely spray paint it. Use a spray paint with your preferred color and make sure to follow the directions on the spray can. You can add one more coat of color to make it more durable, but wait for the first coat to dry.

Step 10: Fill the Feeder With Birdseed

When the spray paint has dried, your bird feeder is finished! You can now fill it with birdseed and hang it on a tree branch to attract birds such as Cardinals .
