Introduction: How to Make a Fried Egg

Do you want a quick and easy breakfast that can get you ready for the day? A good topping for a burger? Something inexpensive and healthy? Eggs are great for all of these things and can be a gateway to becoming a better cook. This recipe is very simple and it does not take a lot of time.

Skill level: beginner
Time: 5 minutes

Supplies

  • An egg
  • 1tbs butter (Oil is also good)
  • A pan/skillet (non stick preferred)
  • A spatula
  • Stove Top
  • Salt and pepper

Step 1: Fat on the Pan

Start by placing a pan on the stove top, what you want to do is put some sort of fat or oil on the pan. 1tbs of butter or an oil to cover the pan will do.

Step 2: Turn Up the Heat

Set the stove to about medium low heat, wait until the pan starts to heat up (around a half a minute)

  • If you're using butter, make sure to spread the butter evenly throughout the pan with the spatula when it starts to melt.

Step 3: Crack the Egg

Crack the egg by tapping in the middle on a hard surface, split it open using your hands, and have the eggs contents fall into the pan.

Step 4: Let It Fry

The egg should start to heat up, I would take this time to season it with salt and pepper, put about enough to go around the egg, not too much

Step 5: Check If Done

Wait until the egg whites are set, so not gooey. You can take out the egg at any point with the spatula after the whites are cooked.

Step 6: Serve

Take the egg out of the pan and turn off the heat, you are now ready to eat the egg you just made.
