Introduction: How to Make a Remote Controlled Robot Car Which Can Move on Land and Water Both With Special Wheels
Here is an easy to make Arduino based remote control robot car. It can be controlled over Bluetooth from a mobile phone. With specially designed wheels it can move land as well as on water. It can move forward, backward, can take turn.
Step 1: Basic Blocks
It has following sections:
1> Two DC geared motor - 150RPM @ 6V
2> An Acrylic chassis - thickness -2 to 3mm max
3> Specially designed wheels - Two active and one passive.
4> A Power and Remote control system.
Step 2: Wheels:
The wheels are made of smiley stress balls. Two are connected with motors and the 3rd one is passive wheel.
The motors are attached with chassis at an angle to increase the ground gap from 2cm to 4cm.
There was a thin thermocol ( 1cm thick) to protect the chassis from water and to increase the buoyancy.
Lots of hums where made on active wheels to improve the movement on ground as well as on water.
Step 3: Remote Control System
To make the control system you can use any of the process following process:
1> Wire Control:
See the following video to know how to make it.
2> RC from old toy: click the below link to see a project where I used a RC from old toy car.
3> Arduino based mobile app controlled remote via Bluetooth:
Step 4: Spep by Step Video Instruction
Watch the video to get detail information on how to build it. You can also see how the car is performing on land and on water.

Fun robot. That handles surprisingly well on water.

Yup, it is doing well. I tried today on a bigger place. It was doing good on water. With the Bluetooth I got approx 25m range.
