Introduction: How to Make an Iron Man Costume

About: I like crafting and making stuff

Wether you want to rule your next Halloween party or just have fun, try making your own very simple Iron Man costume.

Step 1: Materials

Materials for this project include thick eva foam, red and gold spray paint (preferably metallic), thin blue plastic, 3 circular LED lights, card stock, a printer, an exact-o-knife, and a hot glue gun.

Step 2: Downloading the Files

The link that I got my files from was https://www.pepakura.eu/iron-man-mark-4-6-full-arm... if you are interested in making this suit you will need these files. For every file to make the opposite side (like your right and left arm) you fast need to flip the template over.

Step 3: Printing the Templates

Before printing scale the templates to size. Print them on card stock.

Step 4: Cutting Out the Templates

Once you print them cut out the pieces to ONE template. If you do multiple at once you might get them mixed up. Once you finnish glueing them, then you should cut out the next template. You have been warned.

Step 5: Glueing the Pieces

For this step all you need to do is glue the pieces together. To make this step easier I label them so I know where they go. Of course that is optional, but it does save some time. As I mentioned in step 4 you should also cut and glue the pieces one by one so you don’t mix up a piece from the chest with one from the helmet.

Step 6: Spray Painting the Costume

Mask off any parts you don't want to be the color you are spray painting with first and simply spray paint it. Repeat this step for the remaining color.

Step 7: Adding the Finishing Touches

Cut out the eyes, and put your blue plastic there. Hot glue one light to each of your gloves, and glue the remaining light to the circle in the middle of the chest piece.

I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial, it may take some time to make but the results are definitely worth it! If you have any comments or concerns please let me know because I am happy to help!
