Introduction: How to Measure Your Draw Length | Compound Bow Tips

About: Become the Ultimate DIY Hunter & Fisherman!

Figuring out the right draw length for your bow can be a difficult thing. With multiple ways of doing so, and with how important it is to be confident that your bow fits you perfectly, having your bow set up with the correct draw length can be the difference in hitting your target (successfully harvesting an animal) or missing your target and going home empty handed. We've tried to make it as simple and straight forward as possible in hopes to help you figure out your exact draw length!

Our favorite way to measure our draw length is a simple math equation, your wing span divided by 2.5.

How to measure your draw length:

  1. With your back up against a wall (no, this is not a motivational speech) measure your wingspan. A buddy will help, he/she can put tape up, marking the end of each fingertip. Don't extend and stretch your arms as far as you possibly can. In a relaxed manner, spread your arms out to be parallel with the ground.
  2. Measure the distance between the two tape marks your buddy taped up against the wall.
  3. Divide this number by 2.5, and you'll have your draw length in inches. We put together a chart to help you calculate your draw length exactly, check it out here: Draw Length Chart

We hope this helped, let us know if you have any questions or comments on the process!
