Supplies

1. iPhone

2. Macbook

3. Lightning Charging Cord

4. Quicktime Player application (should already be pre-installed on newer MacBooks)

Step 1: Navigate to Your Home Screen

After powering on your laptop and signing in to your account, make your way into the home screen. Be sure to close out any additional applications or web pages that may be running in the background! In this tutorial I am using the current MacBook Air model.

Step 2: Connect the Lightning Charging Cord Into the USB Port

The lightning charging cord can be used for your MacBook by disconnecting it from the power brick. Once, you have done this you would want to locate the USB port on the side of your laptop and make sure it's plugged in firmly to your phone and into the computer.

Step 3: Open the Quicktime Player Application

Direct your mouse towards the application dock on the bottom side of your screen to open the Launchpad. Then, look for the Quicktime Player app which should already come installed with modern MacBooks and open the application

Step 4: Select 'New Movie Recording'

After opening the Quicktime Player application, your screen should look like the one above. Furthermore, move your mouse to the top of the screen and under the files menu, select the option of New Movie Recording. You can also access this by pressing Command Shift N.

Step 5: Under the Dropdown Menu, Select Your IPhone

Next to the sound bar, steer your mouse to the dropdown menu of the recording button and select the name of your phone. In my example, my phone's name is "Axell's iPhone" so I clicked on it.

Step 6: Select the Application You Wish to Present On

Almost there! Your iPhone's screen will appear on your laptop, but don't get too excited just yet, we aren't done. Now, select the application on your iPhone you have your presentation file on. For this tutorial, I am using the app called "Pages".

Step 7: Open the File You Wish to Present

Make sure you are using your iPhone to navigate and not your laptop. After opening the Pages app, I selected the file I'd like to present. For my example, the file is called "Professional Report".

Step 8: Tilt Your Phone Horizontally

For the best resolution, flip your phone horizontally and keep it connected to the lighting charging cord at all times during the presentation.
