Introduction: How to Properly Microwave a Hot Dog
Sometimes you need an easy meal without hassle or spending a lot of money. In this quick intructable I will teach the simple steps of making a perfectly cooked hotdog in a microwave.
Step 1: Materials
The materials that you will need to indulge in a quick and easy meal are:
1. Hotdog
2. Microwave
3. Paper towel
4. Buns
5. Condiments (optional)
Step 2: Lay Out a Piece of Paper Towel.
First you must lay a piece of paper towel flat on a table or any other flat surface.
Step 3: Place Hotdog Onto Paper Towel
Next you must take your hotdog, and lay it onto the edge of the paper towel.
Step 4: Roll Your Hotdog Up in the Paper Towel
After that, you roll the hot dog up into the paper towel, making sure to keep the hotdog tightly rolled.
Step 5: Hot Dog Should Be Properly Rolled
Make sure your hotdog is tightly rolled and have no loose ends! This is important and ensures that your hotdog cooks thoroughly.
Step 6: Microwave for 45-55 Seconds
After your hotdog is neatly rolled in the paper towel, you simply put it in the microwave on normal settings for about 45-55 seconds, and viola. Simply place your hotdog on a bun and you are good to go.
Step 7: Microwaving Tips
It is important to note that not all microwaves are clocked at the same intensity of heat. My suggestion would be to turn the settings on your microwave to high, and cook at 45-55 seconds. Typical microwaves can thoroughly cook your hotdog in 45 seconds.
Step 8: Unroll
Unroll your hotdog from the paper towel. Caution, your hotdog will be hot!
Step 9: Place on Bun
Place your hotdog on a bun, and you are ready to indulge. If you are a condiment person, see the next slide!
Step 10: Condiments(optional)
The next step which is optional would be to add your own twists to your meat treat.
After you add your own twists to your hotdog you are ready to grub!
Suggested toppings are: Ketchup, Mustard, and Relish
Switch it up a bit with: Chili, cheese, onions, or bacon

I do this with two paper towels and microwave the hotdogs when they're frozen and my microwave still burns them every time! I think the microwave is too powerful...

That's because, when the hotdog is frozen the outside of the hotdog cooks faster than the inside! You can't microwave them frozen. All you have to do is, before you microwave the hotdog, run it under the faucet with warm water for about 2 minutes and it will be defrosted and then you can microwave the hotdog without burning it.

you forgot to unwrap the hotdog and put it on the bun.and its easier to put it in a bowl of water and heat them up

If we were to leave the hot dog in for more than 35 seconds we would have several very small, uneven hot dogs.
