Introduction: How to Tie a Tie

Have you or anyone around you ever
needed a tie to be tied but had no idea how to do it? Well I feel like it is something everyone should know how to do, whether it is for themselves or to help others. There are many different ways to do so, but I am just going to teach the way I have done it for the past three years.

First, you are going to need to get a tie and throw it around your neck with the seam on the inside and the thick end on your left about 2 inches lower than where you want it to be when you are finished.

Step 1: Step 1

Step 2: Step 2

Now, pass the thicker end across the knot you made from your left to right. After that, you are going to pass the thick end BEHIND the knot back from your right hand to left. You will realize we are doing almost the same thing as the first few steps here. AGAIN, you are going to pass the thick end from your left to right across the knot, only this time you want to slip a finger between the knot and the horizontal “loop” you have.

Step 3: Step 3

Step 4: Conclusion

It took me forever to figure out how to do this, but I am glad I learned. It can be frustrating at times if you cannot figure it out, but you just have to remind yourself that practice makes perfect. As I said earlier, there are many different ways out there to tie a tie. This is just the easiest way for me, so if this one does not work for you do not give up; find the right way for you, because you never know when you might need to tie a tie.
