Introduction: How to Wash Your Hands

Hi, my name is Macy Goebel. Did you know the TV remote and cash is the number one leading carrier of bacteria? I am going to teach you how to properly wash your hands. I have properly learned how to wash hands with my classes at school. You need to know how to wash your hands properly especially if you work in a food or medical setting because it helps not spreading disease and getting other people sick.

Step 1:

Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Make sure to roll up the sleeves so they do not get wet. Wet the hands with clean warm running water, turn the water off, and then apply soap to the hands.

Step 2:

After, rub the hands together with the soap. Make sure to get the back of the hand, in between the fingers, and under the nails.

Step 3:

Then, scrub the hands for at least 20 seconds. Sing the ABC’s or Happy Birthday song, twice.

Step 4:

Next, rinse the hands under clean warm running water. Make sure all the soap is rinsed off.

Step 5:

The last step is to dry the hands. They can be dried by a clean towel or air dry.
