Introduction: How to Make Chermoula

Chermoula can be used as a marinade, stuffing, or sauce. It requires no skill in the kitchen, and it’s an easy way to add flavor to your meal!

1. Pick your ingredients.
The basic ingredients often include garlic, cilantro, parsley, salt, pepper, coriander, cumin and paprika. However, chermoula is not limited to these, so select flavors based on how the chermoula is being used. Consider different styles for meat and fish, or be creative and serve it over rice and legumes for a vegetarian meal.
2. Toss selected flavors into a food processor and blend until desired consistency.
For a more traditional route, blend ingredients with a mortar and pestle (bet you’ve been waiting to whip that one out!) or hand mix. Most chermoula is rough, but depending upon the recipe, its texture may change. You can also simmer the ingredients on the stove to bring out additional flavor.
3. Top your dish with chermoula to finish!
