Step 1: Obtaining Materials

In order to construct this project, you need to first acquire the materials. Such materials include:

- x2 46" PVC pipes 2" in diameter

- x2 46" wooden dowels

- A generous amount of string

- 6 spheres

- 2 3D printed supports for pipes (more on this later)

- Copper tape

- LEDs

- Battery Pack

Step 2: Making Cuts on the PVC Pipes

To begin, you'll want to cut each 46" pipe into two 30" and 16" pieces respectively. Now take the two 30" pieces and cut eight slits in them using approximately three inches apart using a miter saw. Make sure the slits are cut at a 12.5 degree angle. Take the 16" pieces and a semicircle at the top of each piece that is equal in size to the radius of the pipes. This is so the larger piece will sit snugly in the smaller piece.

Step 3: 3D Printing Supports and Balls

In order for the pipes themselves to stand at an angle, you'll need to create supports. Ours were created using Autodesk Inventor, and feature a flat base and a protruding portion that is large enough to fit tightly in the PVC pipes. This portion also has a hole one inch deep and equal in size to the wooden dowel you will be using as a secondary support.

Of course, you'll also need balls to play the game. Also using Inventor, create several balls at whichever size you desire. Make sure to create them in pairs, as you need two balls per scoring object. After printing, drill a hole through the balls and run a rope through them as shown in the photos.

Step 4: Implementing LEDs and Attaching to the Base

Next, you will want to add some LEDs to the project in order to provide some color and life to the game. Attach copper tape to the end of the dowel that will be closest to the top of the PVC. Attach as many LEDs as you would like, and then attach a battery pack as seen in the photos.

Using hot glue, attach the black supports and supporting PVC pipes to the base. Also attach the black supports to the PVC with hot glue, and the two PVC pipes together as well in order to remain sturdy.
