Introduction: Lavender Simple Syrup

This is a fast and easy recipe for making lavender simple syrup, which has so many great uses. Put it in your jams, drinks, and other edibles! Use it anywhere you want that extra hint of lavender. Add a drop of food coloring if you're after that purple color. This syrup can be stored up to 3 weeks in an airtight container kept in the fridge.

Step 1: BoM

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

1 tbs dried culinary lavender

Airtight container

Purple food coloring- optional

Step 2: Mix

To a small/medium sized pot add the water, sugar, and lavender. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring well until the sugar is dissolved. Once you reach the boiling stage, lower the heat and let the syrup simmer for 5-10 minutes. The longer you let the syrup simmer, the darker it will be.

Step 3: Strain & Cool

I don't particularly care for biting into lavender pieces, so I strain the syrup to get the buds out. Allow to cool before capping your bottle.
