Introduction: MP3 Grip
I drop my mp3 player often. I am sure that many of you drop your gadgets also. Usually when I drop my mp3 player it slips out of my hand. In this instructable I am going to show you how to make a grip to ensure that your mp3 player never falls out of your hand again. This can be done to any handheld device using sugru.
Step 1: Prep
What You Need:
-Sugru (buy here)
-mp3 or iPod or Cell phone
-fingers
Before you begin:
Hold your gadget in your hand the way you normally would when using it. Then see where your fingers rest on the back of the device. Keep a mental measure of where that is, because that is where you need to make the sugru grip.
Step 2: Open Sugru
Open up your sugru pack by cutting on the dotted line. Open the packet as shown below. Pull out all of the sugru making sure none is left in the packet.
Knead the sugru to mix and make it malleable. Roll it into a ball with your hands.
(Note: You have 30 minutes to work with sugru and it takes 24 hours to cure)
Step 3: Applying to Device
Depending on the size of the device, take as much sugru as you need. The more sugru the bigger the grip.
Roll the sugru into a snake. The length of the snake should be the width of you device.
Place the snake where you took a mental note in step 1. (where your fingers rested on the back)
Step 4: Mold Into Place
Using your fingers gentally start to mold the sugru into a ridge for your fingers.
(Note: Make sure your push the sugru onto the surface of the mp3 so it sticks. Also make sure that the sugru has enough contact with the device so it sticks)
Step 5: Wait 24 Hours
Wait 24 hours for the sugru to cure.
After that you are done. Hopefully you won't drop your gadgets anymore.
