Introduction: Magazine Cover Coasters

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

These magazine cover inspired coasters are both stylish and trendy!

Step 1: What You Need

What you will need to make these are:

  • old magazines
  • ceramic tiles
  • scissors
  • sponge brush
  • Mod Podge
  • marker
  • self stick felt circles
  • Optional: ruler

Step 2: Prep Magazine Covers

First, tear out just the magazine covers. Then, use a marker to trace around a ceramic tile. Then, cut out the shape.

Step 3: Add Mod Podge

Then, brush a layer of Mod Podge on top of the ceramic tile, stick the image on top, and add another layer of Mod Podge to seal. Let dry.

Step 4: Add Felt Circles

Finally, just stick on a felt circle on each corner of your ceramic tile, and your coaster is done!

Step 5: Ready to Use

Now, start serving up some stylish trends with these great magazine inspired coasters. I used the flimsy shiny magazine covers, since they don't wrinkle as much as regular laser printed covers. What I used are covers from the following issues:

Nylon (November 2014)

Seventeen Prom (Winter / Spring 2015)

Teen Vogue (May 2015)

In Style (June 2014)
