Introduction: Magnetic Bookmark

First you fold your piece of A4 paper in half. Still folded, draw any shape on half paper. Make sure that half a shape is up against the folding line, otherwise the Book Mark won't work. Once you have your design, cut it out and unfold the paper. It should be one piece. If you wish to add colour, then do so now.

Supplies

Materials needed:

  • 1 Pair of Scissors
  • 1 Pair of Flat Magnets
  • 1 glue-stick
  • 1 A4 sheet of paper
  • Thin Cardboard
  • Paint/Colouring pens or pencils

Step 1: Step 2

To reinforce your bookmark, glue your design on a very thin piece of cardboard. Make sure your design isn't folded when you use the glue. Then cut out your deign. Make sure that no cardboard is visible except for when you turn your design over.

Step 2: Step 3

To make this bookmark work, we need to add the magnets. Turn your design upside down and glue the magnets on the cardboard. Make sure that the magnets can connect, making the design work. Now you are done!

Step 3: Problems

Messed up?

  • If the magnets won't connect, then your magnets may be the wrong way round. This can be easily changed with glue. If this doesn't work then your magnets may be too weak.
  • If the design doesn't fold, then make a small slit in the cardboard (where it's meant to fold).
