Introduction: Makey Makey: Fruit Piano and Others

My love for music and technology always leads me to look for new and creative tools and solutions: Makey Makey was the solution to my problem.

I proposed this path to kindergarten children, to primary school pupils, but also to pupils of high school classes and they were fascinated by Makey Makey, they immediately appreciated the developments and uses that can have in many fields. You can find the Makey Makey plan with fruit in many proposals, but we created it played and then we built another one with aluminum containers with water and we compared the sounds. So now we explain how to create the fruit piano.

Choose the fruit you want, paying attention if you have 6/7 years old pupils, to choose a different size this choice helps you to understand the idea of ascending and descending scale.

Materials:

Step 5: free Execution on the Fruit Piano

When everything is ready, let the children free to produce their musical "free works" and let them have fun.

Step 6: Alternative to Fruit

If you do not have fruit available, you can also use colored play doh or if you want to create it yourself....

Step 7: Colored Salt Paste Piano

If you want to make play doh yourself, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt and then add 2 tablespoons of tempera paint and mix by adding water to taste.

And then the fun is assured, it is known that the best learning goes through fun and emotional involvement.
