Introduction: Mango Dream Cake
In this Instructable, I will show you how to make Mango & Dream Cake. This cake is a sweet treat that is loved across the Hawaiian Islands. Typically prepared and served for traditional luaus, it’s a soft and flavor filled moist cake. I have a personal connection with this dessert. Last year I was able to live in Hawai’i and the downtown was filled with little local bakery shops. I instantly loved the treat and started to consume a lot of traditional goodies. Since I have been back I have been driven to make the sweet treat!

Step 1: Prep
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 13” x 9” pan.
Step 2: Preparing Mix
Whisk cake mix & water together in a large bowl. Set aside. Using either a stand mixer or a hand mixer, add oil to the mixture. Gradually beat eggs into mixture using a hand mixer at medium-high speed, beat well. Scape the side of the bowl if necessary. Then blend at medium speed for about 2 minutes.
Put batter in greased pan immediately and bake for 23-28 minutes. Periodically checking to see if cake has darkened. Check for completion using a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes
Step 3: Make Topping
Add vanilla instant pudding mix into bowl, then pour milk into a bowl. Add mix. Beat with hand mixer at medium/low speed until creamed together. Set aside. Once set add cool whip topping.Let set for 10 minutes.
Remove Cool Whip from fridge. Fold in Cool Whip into pudding bowl with spatula. Combine and gradually mix with finished pudding. Cover and chill until cake is cooled
Get out ripe mango, peal skin off of mango with a knife. With a cutting board and knife, cut mango & into little pieces. Set aside in fridge.
Step 4: Finished Goodie
Once cake is cooled, remove toppings from the refrigerator. Pour over cooled cake with a spatula. Smooth over whole cake. Place pieces of mango on top of cake. Refrigerate one hour before serving.
Measuring cups (1 cup & 1/3 cup)
9” x 13” pan
1 box of yellow cake mix
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 8 oz. tub Cool Whip
3 cups of milk
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup ripe mango
