Introduction: Maple Pumpkin Pie

You can bake a pie that is great to bring to parties or have on Thanksgiving. Follow these simple steps to make a pie.

Step 1: Supplies

INGREDIENTS:
Crust: 12 graham crackers, 6 Tbs butter, 1/3 cup sugar.
Filling: 2 eggs 1(15oz) can pumpkin, 2 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup pure maple syrup, 1/2 cup heavy cream.
Maple Whipped Cream: 1 cup heavy cream, 3 Tbs pure maple syrup, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

TOOLS:
Reusable plastic bag, medium microwave safe bowl, dry measuring cups, wooden spoon, 9 inch pie pan, rolling pin, large bowl, whisk, measuring spoons, liquid measuring cup, medium bowl, hand mixer

Step 2: Crust

Put 12 graham crackers and put them in the plastic bag. Take a rolling pin and crush them into fine crumbs. Add 6 tbs of butter in a microwaveable bowl. Heat it until melted, 30-60 seconds. Stir the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs and 1/3 cup of sugar in to a bowl. Pour this into the pie pan. Flatten it evenly and firmly. Press it up the sides.

Step 3: Bake Crust

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Put the crust in the oven and bake for ten minutes. Carefully take it out of the oven.

Step 4: Filing

While the crust bakes you can make the filling. Crack two eggs into a large bowl, throw away the shells and wash your hands. Add the can of pumpkin,
2 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup maple syrup, and 1/2 cup heavy cream into the eggs. Whisk until smooth.

Step 5: Whipped Cream (optional)

If you would like, you can make whipped cream to go with the pie. Add 1 cup heavy cream 3 Tbs maple syrup, and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract to a bowl. Use a hand mixer to whip cream until fluffy.

Step 6: Bake Filing

Heat the oven to 350 F. Pour the filling into the crust and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until no longer jiggly. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 7: Enjoy!
