Introduction: Memory Box

About: Wife, mother to 3 and soon to be grandmother of a beautiful girl, home creater, homeschooling mom, big into arts & crafts, running a small business from home and helping son-in-law with the admin and mark…

Definition of a box: A container, case, or receptacle, usually

rectangular, of wood, metal, cardboard, etc., and often with a lid or removable cover you use for storage.

Do you have any small items of (emotional) value but it's put away in a closet because you don't know where to put it? I have a solution for you - a memory box (like I call it, you can call it whatever you want!) -

The Box:

First you have to decide how big you want the box and how deep it must be. Most hardware shops will cut the wood for you. So all you have to do is to nail it together. You also can make a 'open' box with both sides open (it looks nice if you hang it on a tree for example) but then I will put a sheet of glass on each side to protect it. I use a staple gun to put my background board on.

Background:

What will the background be?

What colours should I use?

What textures?

Check on Google pictures and Pinterest for interesting backgrounds according to your theme. You can also get some nice DIY paper add-on's (like what I used for the caravan's and tent) - just make sure of the using terms & conditions. Usually it’s for personal use only.

If you want help or more ideas you're more than welcome to contact me ;-)

Setup:

It's best to place everything in place (or hold it there) to give you an idea how the final product will look like before start pasting with glue! Sometimes you will have some add-on that you not even going to use at the end. You will also see if you still need something for the balance.

Most of all ENJOY making it!
