Introduction: Sexy Metal Dress & Metal Mesh Clothing

Stay HOT in this sexy lil dress! In this tutorial I,ll be showing you how to make this beautiful dress shown above, as well as piece together clothing made of metal mesh. Metal clothing has become very popular and trendy lately but it can also be very pricey. This tutorial will allow you to get the perfect piece of clothing for a much better price.

Step 1: Gather All Materials

What you'll need:

  • Metal mesh
    • You can find this material online. For this specific dress I needed a 4ft x 21in piece of mesh.
  • Metal jewelry making rings
  • Metal jewelry chains
  • Wire clippers
  • 2 pairs of needle nose pliers

Step 2: Measure Your Material

For this specific dress I used 2 rectangular pieces of mesh measuring 24in x 21in and 18in x 21in, However depending on your body or the piece of clothing you're trying to make you may need different size pieces. Make sure you measure your body for the pieces you need before ordering your material and especially before cutting.

Step 3: Cut Your Material

For this step you will be using your wire cutters. Cut in straight line across your fabric at the measurement you need. The metal mesh I used in this project had rhinestones over the whole thing so I made sure to cut in between the rows of rhinestones for a perfectly straight cut.

Step 4: Attach the Pieces of Material

Lay your two fabrics together with the inside of each piece of fabric touching. Using your 2 pairs of needle nose pliers bend the jewelry rings open, hook them through both pieces of mesh and bend closed. Place the jewelry rings about 1 inch apart all the way down each side. I left a very large slit on either side of my dress but this can be adjusted based on your preference.

Step 5: Attach Jewelry Chain

The jewelry chain will be used as the halter strap for your dress. I chose a pretty thick chain for the look and also durability. You'll attach this to both top corners of your dress using the jewelry rings in the same way as step 4. I Also chose to attach a small piece of chain in the dip in the front of the dress because of how low cut it is to avoid a fashion malfunction.

Step 6: ROCK YOUR DRESS!!!
