Introduction: How to Make a Mini Bug Robot in 5 Minutes

About: This Page is for different Electrical and Electronics Projects, DIY, Circuits, etc. All the projects are explained with circuit diagram, Breadboard schematic, working principle, Arduino sketches so it becomes …

In this project, we will make a simple tiny bug robot using some basic components. You will need 5 to 10 minutes to make this simple moving mini bug robot.

Supplies

1. a DC motor [5-9v] [or a vibration motor from an old mobile set can be used instead]

2. Switch

3. 9 v Battery with clip

4. LEDs [Red 2 nos]

5. Resistor 1K Ohm

6. GI wire [Iron wire]

7. Hot Glue Gun

8. Both Side Tape

Step 1: Circuit Diagram

The circuit is very simple. If you follow the following steps you can easily make this mini bug robot.

Step 2: Connect the DC Motor

Connect the DC motor with a switch and 9volt battery clip as shown in the picture.

Step 3: Connect the LEDs

Connect two 5-mm LEDs and a 220-ohm resistor in series as shown in the picture.

Step 4: Placed the DC Motor on 9-volt Battery

Stick both side tape on the 9-volt battery. Then placed the DC motor and switch at the bottom of the 9-volt battery as shown in the picture.

Step 5: Placed the LEDs

After that placed the LED circuit on the top of the 9-volt battery with both side tape.

Step 6: Making the Robot Legs

Now we will make the robot legs with GI wire. for that

1. Cut the GI wire in two equal pieces

2. Bend each wire with plyer as shown in the picture.

Step 7: Attach the Robot Legs

Now we will attach the GI wires with the 9-volt battery as shown in the picture.

Step 8: Complete the Circuit

Now we will join the LED circuit and DC motor circuit with the 9-volt battery. Then test the circuit by turning the switch on and off.

Step 9: Connect a Unbalanced Load With Motor

At the end, we have to connect an unbalanced load with the motor shaft to create vibrations. Here I have used a metal terminal from a damaged switch as an unbalanced load.

1. Remove one metal terminal from any damaged switch

2. Fit the metal terminal on the motor shaft with a screwdriver.

3. Apply some hot glue on it.

It will create vibration when we start the motor. Our robot will start moving for this vibration.

Step 10: Finally, Turn on the Switch

Now turn on the switch. Our mini bug robot starts roaming around.

Thus we can easily make our mini bug robot withing 5-6 minutes with some basic materials.
