Introduction: Mini DIY Emergency Light With a 5v USB Charging

About: Hello, I am 17 year old innovator living in India. My interest lies in Electronics. Surf through my creations and enjoy!!!!1

Here presented is a simple DIY Emergency Light which can be charged by your 5v mobile charger.

It is easy to make not much complicated. This can be your very first project as it includes some very simple circuits of electronics as voltage dividing circuit, joule thief, etc.

Its container or cabinet is cardboard box in which we have to make a flashlight..

Step 2: Making Lighting System

Our Lighting System is a Joule Thief. But Before making Joule thief you should be ready with your Toroid!!!!!

Step 3: Making a Toroid

You will need a Ferrite Bead and then wind two wires in it as shown in Image 1.

Then connect two ends of wire as shown in Image 2.

Your Toroid is ready to be placed in the circuit.

Step 4: Function of a Toroid

Toroid here acts a Simple Step up Transformer.

As you know Power=Voltage x Current(P=VI)

As the Toroid increases the current simultaneously Current Decreases and as a Result the power remains Constant.

Step 5: Circuit

Assemble the components on The General Purpose Circuit Board and your lighting system is Ready.

Step 6: Making Charging Circuit

Our Charging Circuit is a voltage dividing Circuit which works on two resistors.

Assemble the Components as shown in Image and your charging circuit would be ready!!!

Step 7: Adding USB Port

Attach the input part to a Female USB A type Port.

Step 8: Making Holes

Make holes with scissors for switch and two LEDs. Take Care while Doing this work if you are working for the first time in Cardboard.

Step 9: Assembling

Assemble all your parts and circuits in the cardboard box. My cardboard box was small but you can take big one for your convinience.

Step 10: Charging

You can charge it via USB Male A to A Cable from Mobile Charger.

Thank You!!!!!
