What happen when you mix Coca Cola and Salt?

I use Pepsi but work for Coke also

Step 1: Pour Salt in Cola

I did this in bathtub so don't have to clean up the mess. :)

As you can see more cola content escape from the bottle.

Why so much bubbles form? The cola contain more CO2 than really can be dissolved in water or beverage
When you open the cola bottle, the excess insoluble CO2 want to escape. By adding salt, you accelerates this process which give the gas more surface area on which to form bubbles
