Introduction: This Is the Most Simple and Robust Movie Camera

About: film historian, an archaeologist at the cinema, the author of publications and books on the history of early cinema, reconstructor devices before the birth of cinema.

This camera is collected by us completely by hand without the use of modern technology. The mechanism of intermittent movement of the film used in this camera allows you to make this unit the most difficult conditions. We specifically did not use lathes and other precision operations. This camera is created from a wooden box, a few gears, chain drive and the old lens.

The mechanism of intermittent movement of the film is the invention Ukrainian engineer and mechanic Joseph Timchenko. This inventor has created this mechanism in 1893 and called it "snail". Sketch this mechanism you can see in my photos. After you create a camera, we conducted several presentations and shootings in different cities of Ukraine: Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv.
