Introduction: No Touch Trash Can

I designed a no touch trash can out of styrofoam that can use its sensor to open the lid by movement that is sensed when close to it.

Supplies

I used styrofoam, a knife, tape, hot glue gun, uno R3 controller board, servo motor SG90, 830 tie points breadboard, ultrasonic sensor, breadboard jumper wires, and a usb cable.

Step 1:

I first started by cutting out styrofoam squares and then hot glued them together to make the cube for the trash can design.

Step 2:

I then taped the ultrasonic sensor to the front of the trash can design.

Step 3:

I cut a small square out of the side of the trash can design to insert the servo motor.

Step 4:

Using the servo motor wires brown, red, and yellow it took the brown wire and attached it to the blue side of the breadboard, the red wire to the red side of the breadboard, and the yellow wire to the PIN number that chat gtp gave me.

Step 5:

I then used the ultrasonic sensor which I attached the brown wire to the VCC spot, the red wire to the Trig spot, the orange wire to the Echo spot, and the black wire to the GND spot. The brown wire that was it in VCC spot I attached to the blue side of the breadboard, the red wire that was in the Trig spot I attached to the red side of the breadboard, the orange wire that was in the Echo spot I attached to the number that chat gtp gave me, and then the black wire that was in the GND spot I attached to the other number that chat gtp said. Chat gtp gave me the PIN numbers for Trig, Echo, and Servo.

Step 6:

Lastly I attached a white wire to the 5V spot into the red side of the breadboard and I attached a red wire to the GND spot and then into the blue side of the breadboard.

Step 7:

Finally I tested the design by waving my hand in front of the ultrasonic sensor to make sure my trash can opened.
