Introduction: Painted Fireplace

Faced with a bit of an eyesore for a fireplace: stained, faux stone (concrete) brick, "sauna wood" accents and gold vents and doors, I turned to paint for a quick fix!

Step 1: Apply Paint

High heat enamel spray paint by Rust-Oleum expertly covered the brass accents and simple latex primer + paint in one covered the concrete perfectly. After sweeping and vacuuming off and debris, I simple applied the paint generously with paint brushes, pushing the paint into the nooks and crannies. Small artist's brushes helped get a clean edge around tight spots.

Step 2: Admire!

Honestly, this project was so simple and straightforward. It took a few days to do, but the result is phenomenal. I chose a satin finish and I like how that adds a little bit of sheen, instead of making the concrete look flat and painted.
