Paper Crane Making

Steps to becoming a paper crane master!Yes it may seem stressful, but if you complete this task, you will be the coolest kid... in your dorm room! Make sure you follow each step and read all the directions carefully then you should have a pretty little paper crane.

Step 1:

Get a square piece of paper, it does not matter the size.

Step 2:

Fold one corner to the other corner of the paper.

Step 3:

repeat step two onto the other corners of the paper and open it up, it should look like this. Then Make Sure You turn the paper over onto the other side.

Step 4:

Fold the paper in half the long way so it looks like this.

Step 5:

Repeat step 4 on other side of the paper then open it up. It should look like this.

Step 6:

Now pinch the edges of the paper that are folded to the inside that meet at the corners. It should look like this.

Step 7:

Now with the diamond shape paper facing you, you want to make sure the part of the paper that is open is on the bottom and the closed end is on the top. You then are going to want to take the corner of each side of the paper and fold it in the middle.

Step 8:

You are then going to want to unfold those flaps you just folded and then pull the flap up until it opens like a mouth.

Step 9:

You will then push it up and flatten it so it looks like this.

Step 10:

You will repeat steps 7 through 9 until you get something that looks like this.

Step 11:

You will then fold over the corners to the middle again. But you will leave then this way.

Step 12:

You will repeat step 11 on the other side and will get something that looks like this.

Step 13:

You will then fold those sides together so that way they are touching each other and you get a shape like this.

Step 14:

You will then fold up both of the bottoms of the paper and then fold the paper back to the way it was before.

Step 15:

You will have something that looks like this, hopefully. What you are going to want to do is pull the skinny pieces down a bit and pinch on of the ends and bend it to make the face of the crane. You will then fold down the wings of the crane and pull them a little to poof out the torso of the crane. Your crane should look like the one on the cover of this instructable, if not then you made yourself a very good item to play a short game of trash basketball with and you still had a some fun doing it!
