Introduction: Paper Frog

This project is going to 8* you how to make a jumping paper frog using only one sheet of paper.

Supplies

- 1 square sheet of paper

* if you don't have a square sheet of paper you can use a ruler and scissors to make a rectangular piece of paper into a square.

Step 1: Fold the Paper in Half

Take the right side of the paper and fold the paper in half vertically.

Step 2: Fold the Corners

Take the top right corner and put a crease in it. Do the same thing with the left side. Your paper should look like an X when you are done creasing it.

Step 3: Split the X

Flip your paper over. Start a fold on the intersecting point of the X. It should look like you split the X in half. When you are done flip the paper back over.

Step 4: Create Top Triangle

Put your pointer fingers in the center crease and fold them under to make a triangle.

Step 5: Fold the Base

Take the bottom part of the paper and fold it up to the base of the triangle.

Step 6: Make the Arrow.

On the right side lift up the top flap of the triangle. Fold the bottom flap in half. Put the top flap back. Repeat the same steps on the left side. When you are done you should be left with an arrow.

Step 7: Front Legs

Put your pointer finger in the middle of the of the triangle. Fold both the left and the right flaps up to make two smaller triangles. These will be the front legs.

Step 8: Fold the Rectangle

Fold the bottom rectangle in half so that it touches the base of the front legs. Fold each corner of the top rectangle down so that it creates two small triangles.

Step 9: Starting the Back Legs

This part is tricky. Pinch the top of the bottom left triangle. Pull outwards carefully so that you don't rip the paper. Do the same thing on the right side. When you are done the bottom should look like a little boat.

Step 10: Finishing the Hind Legs

Like you did with the front legs, put your pointer finger in the center of the top edge of the small boat shape and fold both sides to create two small triangles.

Step 11: Final Folds

Flip the frog over so you see the top of it. Take the hind legs and fold them up so they are touching the back of the frog. Flip the frog over with the hind legs still folded. Find the base of where the hind legs start, make sure the front legs are facing you, and fold it forward.

Step 12: All Done!!

You can now have fun with your jumping frog!
