Paving Stone Shelf

Introduction: Paving Stone Shelf

About: My name is Randy and I am a Community Manager in these here parts. In a previous life I had founded and run the Instructables Design Studio (RIP) @ Autodesk's Pier 9 Technology Center. I'm also the author of…

I made this shelf using 8" paving stones from Home Depot and some pine boards my previous roommate had left behind when she moved (they were the base of her bed frame). I had some fun playing around with centering the board for each shelf and, hence, the staggered appearance. It cost me about $10 to make and has been rather functional thus far.

You can also varnish/pollywhatchamacallit the pavers.

It gives them a nice luster and keeps dust from flaking.

We used make shelves at university, but we used house bricks. Yours look way way nicer!

Reminds me of the simpsons episode...

"Sir there are 16 bricks missing from the constructionyard"

"Sigh, No hospital then... I'll alert the children..."  :p

    Great work!
