Follow the easy steps or watch the short video tutorial or do both! :)
Step 1: Ingredients/Tools
Print the recipe here if you like.
- Bread (use your favorite kind of bread)
- Cheese (simple, use your favorite kind of cheese, I LOVE mild cheddar, but sometimes do a mix of cheddar and jack or mozzarella.)
- Butter (love me some butter. But you can use a fake butter if you want. :))
- Butter knife
Step 2: Bread, Butter, and Cheese
First, let's get our skillet on the stovetop on medium heat. Now we need our bread. The type of bread is totally up to you, I am using a "Texas Toast" style bread for mine. You can use whole wheat, french bread, sourdough, etc. Then generously spread on your softened butter. mmmm butter. Or you can use any butter substitute spread if you like. Even spraying it with olive oil will do the trick. Then we need to slice up some cheese or you can shred the cheese. Again, use whatever cheese you like. I love a good mild cheddar.
Step 3: Place and Cook
Now place one slice butter side down onto your skillet. Then place your cheese on top. Then put the other slice butter side up. Now cook that side for a few minutes until it gets nice and golden brown.
Step 4: Flip, Cook, and Serve
Now flip it over. Wow look how nice and golden brown it is. Then cook that side. Once done, transfer to a plate and serve! :) Mmmm yummy!
