Introduction: Pi&apple Pie

The upside-down pineapple and apple tart is simply delicious. This version has no crust and has no baking involved, so it's the best option if you are in a hurry or just don't want to turn on the oven. You just need a pan and some of your favorite fruit. The classic one is made of apples, but pineapples add an extra touch and really improves it! Pi is present in the pineapple perfect rings. A good way to celebrate March 14th, or any other day ;) .

Supplies

FRUIT :

4 slices of Pineapple (fresh or canned)

1-2 apples (depending on size) I prefer Golden, but feel free to use the variety you prefer, it will add different texture and flavor!

30g unsalted butter

50g sugar (granulated, brown or mix)

Batter:

2 medium eggs

10ml unflavored oil

60g granulated sugar or any sweeter you prefer

60ml milk

120ml milk (or vegetable drink)

1tsp vanilla extract

1/2tsp cinnamon

6g baking powder

Step 1: Prepare the Fruit

Make apple slices and find the best way to put the pineapple slices.

Step 2: Make the Caramel

Put the butter and sugar in a pan and let it melt to create a delicious caramel. Put the fruit on in and stir occasionally for 5-8 minutes. Keep it at low temperature to avoid burning the caramel!

Step 3: Make the Batter

In the meanwhile, put the eggs, oil, sweetener and milk in a medium bowl and mix. Then add the flour, extract, cinnamon and baking powder and whisk them up until you get a homogeneous batter.

Step 4: Let's Cook the Cake!

Once the fruit is cooked, take it out of the pan and put the pineapple slices on the bottom. Then put half of the batter, the apples and the other half. Cover the pan with a lid and wait 8-10 minutes at low temperature minutes until the mixture is cooked. You will know if it's cooked by just touching the surface.

Put a plate on it and turn the pan upside down. Enjoy!
