Introduction: Pizza Quesadillas!

About: Hello and Welcome to In the Kitchen With Matt. I am your host Matt Taylor. My goal for the show is to teach you how to cook really good food at home for cheap. Eating out everyday can get expensive, but it doe…

In this instructable, I will show you how to make a pizza quesadilla. I love quesadillas, I normally make them 2 or 3 times a week, but usually just do it super simple with the flour tortilla and cheese, but thought I would change it up a bit and do a pizza one. Homemade pizza quesadillas are super easy to make with very few ingredients, and not baking required, if I can make them, you can make them, let's get started!

Don't forget to follow me and check out my other instructables. :)

If you have any questions or comments leave them down below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Follow the easy steps or watch the short video tutorial or do both! :)

Step 1: Ingredients/Tools

Print the recipe here if you like.

Ingredients:

  • Flour tortillas
  • marinara sauce (or favorite pizza sauce)
  • mozzarella cheese
  • pepperoni
  • olives
  • (your favorite pizza toppings)

Tools:

  • spatula
  • skillet
  • pizza cutter
  • cutting board
  • spoon

Step 2: Heat, Spread, Toppings

First let's turn the heat on the stovetop to medium heat. Then place our tortilla in the skillet. Next had a thin layer of marinara sauce or your favorite pizza sauce. Then add cheese and other toppings. I always top the toppings off with more cheese too. :)

Step 3: Fold, Cook, Serve

Now we fold it over. Use your hands or a spatula to fold it over. It will be hot! :) Then cook it for a few minutes until each side gets golden brown. That provides a nice little crunch to it. :) Then place it on a cutting board and cut it into wedges with a knife or pizza cutter. Or you can eat it as is if you like. So simple and easy, kids love these things!!

Step 4: Video Tutorial

Now what those steps in action my watching my video tutorial. :)

Sure! I don't see why not. :) I haven't tried it, but I am betting they would freeze nicely. :)

I have done this many times. I don't fold mine though, I just lay the first tortilla down and add the ingredients then place another tortilla on top. I use salsa instead of pizza sauce and mostly ingredients like cilantro, onions.red peppers, jalapenos and sometimes leftover taco meat or refried beans. Of course the traditional pizza topping work well too. I then either bake or microwave them. I usually add more salsa and cheese to the top as well. They are delicious. We call our version "Mexican Pizza" as does a well known fast food restaurant no matter what toppings we use. Thanks for the Instructable!

That is awesome! Yeah if I wanted to make it bigger I would do the two layers as well. They are so versatile, with the toppings. :)

Tasty! I made these once too but I used the sauce for dipping instead of putting it on. I love sauce :)
