Hi,

Its that time of the year again were we break out the black card in bulk!

In this instructable i am going to show you how to make a quick and easy Bat decoration for your home.

It's really simple so kids can do it, takes about 5 to 10 mins to make a few so you can have a swarm of bats in no time.

Lets begin!

Step 1: What You'll Need

A4 Black Card

Black paper also work but isn't as substantial. You could even use A3 card for even bigger bats.

Silver pen

Again you can use alternatives like paint or a white pencil/paint pen

Pencil

Scissors

Sellotape

Thread

Optional

Googly eyes can make for a nice addition

Step 2: Lets Get the Cutting Out of the Way

Take your A4 card and cut it in half long ways.

Take those two parts and cut them in half long ways so you now have 4 strips.

Draw round the bat template provided* and cut out your bats. you can cut 2 at a time by laying the strips on top of each other.

*either print it out, trace it off the screen or freehand it :)

Step 3: Decorate Them

Take your silver pen and draw a suitable bat face on one side then flip it over and do the wings on the opposite side

Step 4: Wrap Them Round

Curve your bat and slot the two cuts together so they interlock.

You might want to give it a light squeeze to make it a bit rounder.

Put a bit of tape over the join.

Optional

Now's a good time to put on the googly eyes if you have them

Step 5: String Them Up

Tape some thread to the back and hang them up.

Done!

Happy Halloween folks!
