Introduction: Quick and Easy Gummies
There are a lot of great recipes out there for gummies, but if you're looking a quick and easy recipe you can make with ingredients that are likely in your kitchen cupboard, this is the one for you!
Step 1: List of Ingredients
- One box of Jello
- Seven packets of gelatin
- Corn starch
- Citric acid
- 3/4 cup of water
- Candy molds
- Small pot
Step 2: Making Your Gummies
- Mix together the jello and gelatin in your small pot
- If you'd like to make them sour, add between one and two teaspoons of citric acid to the jello and gelatin.
- Add in 3/4 cup of water and stir.
- Place you pot on medium heat and stir until the gelatin has dissolved. This takes approximately 5 minutes.
- Quickly place your gummy mixture into molds. I transferred my mixture to a pourable cup to make this step easier, but it's not necessary.
- Next, place your gummies in the freezer to harden up. This takes roughly 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, remove your gummies from the freezer, unmold them and lightly dust with corn starch.
- Enjoy!

Yay, it worked! I've just finished making these beautiful, jewel-like gummies from your recipe. I'm trying to add an image, hope it shows. Thank you so much for this recipe - last night I used a different i'ble, with slightly different amounts of water and gelatine to yours; and I ended up with marshmallows instead of gummies.

I made it! But didn't take a pic. I sprayed a glass pan 5x8 with PAM then poured it into that. Also I only had 3 packets of the gelatine and one packet of sugar free (it's all I had) Raspberry flavored jello. But I added the 3/4c. of water and cooked down 7min. Turned out really flavorful! Thanks for the great Inst'able!!

would agar agar powder work instead of gelatin?
I know it is a lot stronger.

I found 7 packets of gelatin to be WAY too much. They were hard and just like firm tofu... ewe. I reduced to 2 and 3 to try and both were much better texture! I also used Sugar Free Jello for dietary reasons and they are such a treat!!!

Forgive me for sticking my nose in and replying ahead of the creator of these yummy treats! This is what I used to make these:
One 85gm box of jelly (all jelly crystals come in 85gm packets over here).
3 rounded, OR 3 heaped tablespoons of gelatine, depending on how solid you want the gummies to be. (I wasn't able to find any gelatin in those little individual serve sachets). I really liked using 3 heaped tablespoons of gelatine, as the more solid they are, the less sticky they seem to be.
I didn't put cornstarch/cornflour on my next batch after the ones in the photo, because these little beauties didn't stick, luckily. And they're almost transparent if you don't use cornflour on them - so beautiful :-)

oooh these look awesome! Make these Paleo and we can talk... hahah

They do make sugar free Jello. I'm sure gelatin is OK as it's made from meat. Some Paleo allow moderate amounts of artificial sweeteners.
