Introduction: Quick and Easy Tomatoes Salad

It's so hot here in France, and having a hot course for dinner is just impossible. So yesterday I made a very quick and simple recipe : a tomatoes/cheese salad. It's fresh, tasty, and very easy to prepare. Follow these steps to get this simple salad !

This Instructable took part in the "Cooking Basics Challenge".

Step 1: Ingredients

So, for this recipe, you will need :

  • three tomatoes (or two big ones)
  • a ball of mozzarella
  • toasted croutons
  • vinegar
  • olive oil
  • meat spices (any spice mix you love should work. Even if my mix is for meat !)

Double the quantities if this salad is for two people.

Step 2: Tomatoes

Ok, wash the tomatoes down the sink, then slice them in thin layers.

Start putting them in a circle in the plate. Of course you can do something completely different.

I think that making something beautiful is very important. Even if it's for yourself. So be creative !

Step 3: The Cheese

Remove the water from the mozzarella.

Cut the cheese in small cubes and put them in the centre of the plate.

Step 4: Oil and Vinegar

Add a little amount of olive oil on the tomatoes and on the cheese. Add some vinegar on the tomatoes. Any vinegar you love can fit, of course.

Step 5: Toasted Croutons

Spread some toasted croûtons everywhere...

Those are ready made, and they are also flavoured.

Step 6: Seasoning

To finish, spread some spices mix everywhere. They are tasty and colourful.

That's all, you have now a nice salad !!

Step 7: Eating

I really love this salad, because it's inexpensive, easy and quick to do, and it's tasty.

You have the freshness from the tomatoes and from the cheese,

A little acid touch with the vinegar,

A nice flavors, due to the spices mix and the toasted croûtons,

A crispy side thanks to the toasted croûtons.

Just finish the dinner with a yogurt and a fruit, and that's all for a good and healthy dinner.
