Introduction: Rainbow Bracelet
In this instructable I will show you how to make a rainbow bracelet made of paracord
Is fun and easy to make, looks great, and it's also a good way to make use of your paracord leftovers
At its most basic reduction, the rainbow is an amalgamation of light - a perfect harmonic combination which produces a symbol of supernatural beauty, promise and enlightenment.
Rainbow Colors:
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Violet
Step 1: Materials
- Lighter
- Buckle (I chose plastic because black usually comes only in plastic and I wanted to match buckle with cord-black)
- Paracord Scraps (rainbow colors)
- Black Paracord (8 feet)
- Tweezers
- Scissors
If you don't have paracord you could use any other cord as long as you have plenty of colors
I use microcord or rope sometimes, depending on the project
Step 2: Start
Before you add colors you need to braid a basic black paracord bracelet known as cobra or solomon bracelet.
Follow my previous instructable it will show you how to make one, follow the steps from 2-4 only
Once you do that you can proceed to add color on the next step of this tut (3)
Step 3: Add Color
Once you have braided the paracord bracelet you can proceed to insert the color scraps with the help of a tweezer
As you can see I removed the paracord inner strands, it's up to you to leave them or remove them
Now Insert the scraps that form the rainbow color diagonally
In this color order from top to bottom starting with:
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
Follow my pics... Remeber that a picture is worth a thousand words!
Step 4: Finish
After you've have done the bracelet, snip (cut) the scraps of any extra cord and singe (melt them on)
Use your scissors & lighter
Be careful, do not get cut &/or burned
Congrats, you've succesfully made yourself a rainbow bracelet!
Step 5: Variation
You can make a variation depending on your taste
- If you wanna make a fancier bracelet you can use a stainless steel or a brass buckle
- You could make the bracelet wider (See pic)
- You could leave more space/knots between colors or you can arrange them closer (See pics)
The variations are endless… It's entirely up to you. Let your creative juices flow and have fun!
Step 6: Wear
Show it off! ;-)
