Introduction: Rainbow Cupcakes
As kids, we always sought to find a treasure at the end of a rainbow. In this tutorial, you will find a delicious and colorful cupcake at the end of the rainbow.
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
You will need the following materials:
Boxed White Cake Mix (since each brand is different, refer to the box for additional ingredients)
Small Marshmallows
Heavy Whipping Cream
Confectioner's Sugar
Food Coloring
Vanilla Extract
Air Heads - Rainbow Sour Strips
Electric Mixer
Mixing Bowl
Rubber Spatula
Ziplock Bag
Scissors
Knife
Step 2: Preparing the Cake Mix
Prepare the cake mix as directed on the box.
Step 3: Separating the Cake Mix
Separate the cake mix into six different containers.
Step 4: Dying the Cake Mix
Add as much food coloring as your desired color.
Step 5: Prepare the Cupcake Pan
Place cupcake liners on the cupcake pan.
Step 6: Filling the Cupcake Liners
Place a teaspoon of each individual colored cake mix into each cupcake liner.
Step 7: Bake
Bake as directed on the cake mix box.
Step 8: Let the Cupcakes Cool Down
Remove the cupcake pan from the oven and allow cupcakes to cool down completely.
Step 9: Prepare the Frosting
Mix 1 cup of whipping cream, 1/4 cup of confectioner's sugar, and approximately one teaspoon of vanilla extract (flavor the frosting to your desired taste).
Step 10: Color the Frosting
Add blue food coloring to resemble a sky blue color. Using an electric mixer, mix at a medium high speed. Add additional food coloring if you wish your frosting to be a little darker.
Step 11: Piping the Frosting
Using a rubber spatula, place the the prepared frosting inside a ziploc bag. Seal the bag and cut a corner off with scissors. Start by piping frosting around the outside edge of the top of the cupcake and move the Ziploc bag in a spiral motion inward until ending in the very middle of the cupcake.
Step 12: Adding a Rainbow
Using a knife, cut the sour strip candy in half and place a piece on the already frosted cupcake.
Step 13: Adding Clouds
Cut the small marshmallows in half and place them at each end of the rainbow.
Step 14: Enjoy Your Cupcake
These cupcakes will be a great treat with the kids.

These look fantastic, I especially like the way you incorporated what the guys on Epic Meal Time call "gay bacon strips", namely the Rainbow Sour Strips. These are everything a cupcake should be; tasty, whimsical , and attractive.
