Introduction: SAFELY ORGANIZE AND STORE SEWING MACHINE NEEDLES

Sewing machine needles now come in packages that usually are not suitable for storage after the package is opened. Needles fall out or get jumbled, and it is hard to store them in an organized and safe way. This problem is easily remedied by using an empty paper match book.

Step 1: Material:

Empty paper match book

Step 2: Mark Insertion Points:

Place one of the needles inside the empty match book as shown allowing enough room at the top so that the packet will close. Mark the insertion points for the needles.

Step 3: Fill the Packet With the Needles:

Insert the needles into the match book as shown. If various sizes of needles are to be stored in one packet, they can be grouped by size and labeled.

Step 4: Label the Outside of the Packet:

Place a label on the outside of the match book and put it in your sewing kit. You can now easily find and safely retrieve sewing machine needles whenever you need them!

I still have some of my grandma's needle books, they're really pretty with colored foil inside. Clever way to make new ones!

Thanks, I ran across some of mother's needles in neat packets under a bunch of my needles scattered around--that prompted me to look for a solution to the problem!
